Amy is a licensed k-12 visual art educator and holds a bachelor's degree from UNC Greensboro. She taught specialized visual art courses at R.J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, NC for 6 years, and a dance appreciation course for 2 years. Currently, Amy is a professional artist, homeschool mother of three, and art educator for all ages at various venues, including homes, churches and outdoor areas.

Classes
Semester classes are offered to children ages 6 to 18 during the school year. (8-12 classes per semester course)
Some classes have various kinds of art media covered, including techniques in drawing, painting, sculpture and mixed media.
Some classes are focused mainly on drawing or painting.
Historical artists, current artists, art styles and art movements are discussed as well.
*Prices include:
-all materials (including a personal mixed media sketchbook)
-lessons and instruction for class assignments and projects.
Prices of a semester art course can range from $110 to $185, depending on supply needs and amount of class time scheduled for the course. Discounts are available for siblings.
Open Studio
Open Studio sessions are scheduled drop-in times where student artists are invited to come, bring their own materials and art projects, and work among myself and other art students in a relaxed and creative environment. I am available as a resource during this time, and will help artists with things like:
-answering questions
-giving encouragement when artists feel stuck
-finding good resources for art making
-choosing the right materials for the right project
-giving material and method demonstrations
-providing feedback on artwork
-coaching artists how to push a little farther with their work
I will sometimes work on my own art during open studio, and I invite student artists to learn from watching how I make things.
*Pricing for Open Studio reflects that I DO NOT provide any materials or class instruction during this time, as I do with my art classes.
Price for Open Studio is $5 per person, per hour, and you pay as you attend!
Registration fee: $5, due before your first Open Studio visit, and separate from your Open Studio payment.
