Amy is a professional artist and educator with a passion for nature, light and space. Her play with those components, composition design and texture is evident in her paintings, drawings and installation art. Noted as a "social artist", many of her pieces are created live or in collaboration with fellow artists or students. A stay-at-home mom of three small children, Cruz teaches painting and drawing lessons to all ages at her home and various venues in Winston-Salem, NC. She also leads Awake Artisans, a group of artists at Awake Church who hold creative gatherings, arts ministry sessions, live artists during church services, and a gallery.
